It's okay to do a random act of kindness without expecting a reward, and one day someone may do the same for you, said Princess Diana.

There was a random act of kindness celebration in every corner of the country two weeks ago! Despite this special day taking place once a year, kindness can be practiced and passed forward every day.

The #SiliconValleyStrongHeroes are dedicated to improving our community's quality of life, promoting community involvement, engaging active members in the community, and creating lasting, positive change. Getting involved in volunteering is a great way to fulfill this dedication and spread kindness to others!

Taking part in volunteer events is a great way to earn community service hours, build community, or simply get together with others who are interested in the outdoors. Tools will always be provided, and no experience is required.

Kindness can be provided by volunteers of all ages

Throughout the month, San Jose offers a number of volunteering opportunities. In the community, volunteerism is always needed! There are many ways nonprofits can utilize volunteers, including community clean-ups, vaccine distribution sites, and food distribution at nonprofit & San Jose school sites.

There is no need for prior training to become a volunteer, and all tools are provided. It is possible for volunteers to participate in one-time or recurring volunteer activities. It doesn't matter if you're a volunteer with only a few hours to spare or if you volunteer more than once a month, there is something for everyone!
