It is with great pleasure that Visit San Jose congratulates LUNA Mexican Kitchen for their inclusion as Bib Gourmand establishments in the 2019 Michelin Guide California.

LUNA Mexican Kitchen offers authentic, fresh Mexican cuisine prepared with an emphasis on fresh ingredients, located at 1495 The Alameda in San Jose. We offer seasonal specials that focus on sustainability and clean eating.

A LUNA product is a local, natural, and unrefined product. They earned their Bib Gourmand award due to their commitment to locally sourced ingredients and hand-crafted recipes.

Jo Lopez, Co-Founder & Chef of LUNA Mexican Kitchen, started the restaurant two years ago with a dream in mind. Our city of San Jose, where we were born and raised, is so special to us.

Luna Mexican Kitchens' passion for creating delicious and sustainable dining options in San Jose is something we are proud of, said Frances Wong, director of communications for Visit San Jose. Michelin has recognized San Jose and California's food scene's contributions.

A Bib Gourmand award goes to LUNA Mexican Kitchen along with two other South Bay restaurants. More Michelin-rated restaurants are joining San Jose's regional culinary scene with the addition of Orchard City Kitchen and The Bywater.

Luna Mexican Kitchen joins 151 California restaurants recognized as Bib Gourmands. Since 1997, the Bib Gourmand awards have recognized restaurants serving high-quality meals for under $40, which include two courses as well as a drink. Apart from award-winning restaurants, Michelin inspectors are dedicated to finding lesser-known gems that can be easily accessible by diners of all budgets and tastes.
